Herman Stretches Hit String to 35
Saturday, September 8th, 1928
The Brooklyn Robins stopped the New York Giants today 2-0 and Babe Herman collected a base hit yet again. The Brooklyn right fielder finished with 4 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 35.

"I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Herman told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games."
Babe Herman singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Carl Hubbell in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and doubled in the 8th.

Herman is currently hitting at a .370 pace with 19 home runs and 103 RBIs.
