Matlock Fashions Shutout Against St. Louis Sunday, August 27th, 1939 Leroy Matlock of the Boston Bees was in command from start to finish in his 7-0 shutout win over the St. Louis Cardinals. He struck out 4, walked 0 and allowed 3 hits. "I felt strong the entire game," Matlock said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working."
