Hamlin Skunks White Sox Tuesday, August 8th, 1939 Detroit Tigers fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Luke Hamlin blanked the Chicago White Sox, 2-0 at Navin Field today. Hamlin stopped them on 6 hits while walking 1 and striking out 3. "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Tigers skipper said. "He was on top of his game in this one." Presently Hamlin has a 12-7 mark in 22 starts with a 3.58 ERA. He has given up 196 hits in 183.2 innings, struck out 72 and issued 37 walks.
