Bees Davis Stops Cardinals Thursday, August 3rd, 1939 Curt Davis pitched a strong game at Sportsman's Park IV (NL) today, blanking the St. Louis Cardinals 5-0. Davis allowed no runs on 6 hits, totaled 3 strikeouts and gave up 4 walks. Boston manager said he could tell immediately it was going to be a good game for Davis. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," said. "He threw a lot of strikes." In 21 starts this season Davis has registered a 8-11 record and a 4.82 ERA.
