Boston Red Sox Ship Coffman to Cincinnati
Sunday, July 30th, 1939
After prolonged negotiations Boston agreed to ship 33-year-old RHP Dick Coffman and 23-year-old RHP George Gick to Cincinnati for 24-year-old RHP Emerson Dickman. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups.

"It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen."

Coffman has nailed down no saves for the year. He has also totaled 14 strikeouts and 25 walks in 48.1 innings while registering a 4.47 ERA and a 0-0 won-lost record.
