Posedel Pitches Red Sox to Shutout Victory

The St. Louis Browns struggled at the plate today against Red Sox hurler Bill Posedel, who shackled them on 2 hits while hurling a complete game 4-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Browns skipper in his postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Posedel finished the game with 1 strikeout and 3 walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," Boston manager said. "Bill made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
Checking out his stats for the season, Posedel has notched 3 wins and 5 losses in 3 starts, 4.27 ERA and struck out 26 batters in 103.1 innings.
