The St. Louis Browns struggled at the plate today against Red Sox hurler Bill Posedel, who shackled them on 2 hits while hurling a complete game 4-0 shutout.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Browns skipper in his postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."

"He pitched real well," Boston manager said. "Bill made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."

Checking out his stats for the season, Posedel has notched 3 wins and 5 losses in 3 starts, 4.27 ERA and struck out 26 batters in 103.1 innings.
