Weaver at His Best, Whips Browns Friday, September 16th, 1938 The Washington Senators rolled to an easy 7-0 win over the St. Louis Browns at Sportsman's Park IV (AL) today. Leading the way to victory was starter Jim D Weaver, who shackled the St. Louis Browns and held them scoreless on a 4-hitter. "This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Weaver said in his postgame press conference.
