Cleveland Indians Ship Hughes to Philadelphia Tuesday, July 26th, 1938 The Cleveland Indians have made a deal sending 27-year-old 2B Roy Hughes to the Philadelphia Athletics for 29-year-old RHP Bill Trotter and 24-year-old 1B Nick Etten. Both sides are said to be pleased with the way the trade worked out. Hughes is batting at a .227 pace this season, picking up 10 hits in 44 at-bats with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 7 runs scored. |
