Athletics Down Rainiers, Win Major League Baseball Title Sunday, October 20th, 1935 "It's no easy task to win it all," the Philadelphia skipper told the press after his club had beaten the Seattle Rainiers 13-10 to nab the coveted Major League Baseball title. His Athletics had prevailed over the Rainiers 4-0 in the championship series. "It's hard enough just to win your own league trophy. To win the Major League Baseball is quite an achievement.
