NL Chooses Rookie of the Month Monday, October 1st, 1934 In September, Zeke Bonura knocked National League pitchers all over the ballpark all month long and put up numbers good enough to be voted the Rookie of the Month. Last month, the 26-year-old Philadelphia first baseman played in 29 games and hit .314 with 6 doubles, no triples and 3 home runs. Bonura also scored 14 times and drove in 14 runs. This year Bonura has hit 12 home runs and posted a .339 batting average. |
