Allen Breezes to Shutout Victory
Sunday, May 29th, 1932
New York's Johnny Allen brought his best stuff to Griffith Stadium I today, shutting down and shutting out the Washington Senators 5-0. He racked up 1 strikeout, surrendered 5 hits and issued 6 walks on his way to the victory.

"We barely made him work at all," Washington manager said later. "New York could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."

Presently Allen has a 5-1 mark in 7 starts with a 1.99 ERA. He has given up 37 hits in 54.1 innings, struck out 21 and issued 20 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .193 batting average against him.
