Tobin Magnificent in 6-0 Chicago Triumph
Jim Tobin of the Chicago White Sox was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit shutout, 6-0, against the Boston Red Sox.

By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Chicago manager .

"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."

Tobin had 2 strikeouts and 4 walks in the outing.\n

So far this year Tobin has made 27 starts, tossed 219.2 innings, struck out 74 batters and walked 69. His record is 8-20 with a 4.38 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .289 batting average.
