Stone Swings for the Cycle
Most fans have never seen a player hit for the cycle, and most players have never done it -- but it happened today at Polo Grounds IV. John Stone of the New York Giants accomplished the feat against Cincinnati Reds.

Stone went 4-for-5 with 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run in the 7-6 New York victory.

"That was one for the grandkids, am I right?" Stone said after the game.

Stone also scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI in a day to remember for both Stone and the crowd at Polo Grounds IV.

John Stone flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Claude Passeau in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and tripled in the 9th.
