Rigney Fires 2-0 Shutout in White Sox Win
In a remarkable performance, Chicago White Sox starter Johnny Rigney beat the Philadelphia Athletics 2-0 in an impressive 4-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The White Sox hurler finished with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Philadelphia manager said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

So far this season Rigney has compiled a 12-18 record with a 3.87 ERA.
