World Series Game Three Victory for Hoyt and New York
The New York Yankees have a critical edge over the Los Angeles Angels in the World Series, thanks to the veteran arm of Waite Hoyt.

Hoyt, 38, put on a dominant performance at Yankee Stadium today, leading the Yankees to victory, 4-0, in a pivotal Game Three . New York is now two games away from the world title, leading the best-of-seven series by a margin of 2-1.

Hoyt was in the zone all game. He frustrated Los Angeles hitters while giving the Yankees 9 innings of quality work. Hoyt threw 118 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 2 punchouts.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'New York Yankees (probably) 1937 World Series Champions'," Hoyt told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

Game 4 is scheduled for Friday, October 22nd, 1937 at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. The scheduled starters for the game are Ted Trent for New York and Satchel Paige for Los Angeles.
