Philadelphia Holds Two
Game Advantage After 1-0 Win
|
William
Bell knew he couldn't win the series for the Philadelphia
Athletics. The best he could do, he figured,
was to give the A’s a chance to win and give the
Shibe Park faithful a good time. Check and check.
The Philadelphia
right-hander threw a complete game shutout against
the Seattle
Rainiers, striking out 2 along the way. The
Athletics will be looking to keep the momentum
tomorrow. With the 1-0 win, Philadelphia leads 2-0
in the best-of-7 series.
Bell allowed no earned runs on 6 hits over 9 innings
for the Athletics. He walked 3 and struck out 2.
"I like our mindset right now," said Philadelphia
manager .
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in
Philadelphia. Slated to start are Willie
Ludolph for Seattle and Johnny
Marcum for Philadelphia.
