Sacramento Takes Series Lead After 2-1 Win
The Sacramento Solons continued the drama today in what has been an exciting World Series, stealing Game 3 from the New York Giants in a walk-off in the 10th inning. Sacramento took the 2-1 win thanks in large part to a good day from starter Fay Thomas. The right-hander threw 10 innings of 8-hit ball in the win, which gave the Solons a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Late in the game, second baseman Frank Warfield had a big at-bat for Sacramento. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Carl Hubbell. The play gave the Solons a 2-1 lead.

"Put a star next to this win," Warfield said.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday. Slated to start are Manny Salvo for the Sacramento Solons and Bobo Newsom for the the New York Giants.
