Portland Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Portland Beavers got a strong game from starter Paul Fittery, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Beavers took the 4-1 win over the San Francisco Seals in Game 3 of the Governor's Cup Series in a 9th inning walk-off today. The win capped off a fine outing for the left-handed Fittery, who was named player of the game. Fittery threw 9 innings allowing 1 run in the win, which allowed the Beavers to narrow their deficit to 1-2 in the best-of-7 series.

Bob Meusel was the walk-off hero for Portland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Beavers right fielder hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.

"I really like what we did out there today," Fittery said after the game.

The next game is scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, 1925 at Vaughn Street Park. Slated to start are Dave Brown for the Seals and Bullet Rogan for the Beavers.
